The Red Badge of Stupidity
If Stephen Crane, author of “The Red Badge of Courage,” were alive today and was asked to explain the mess in which we find ourselves, he would open his book of poems and recite:
A learned man came to me once.
He said: “I know the way, - come.”
And I was overjoyed at this.
Together we hastened.
Soon, too soon, were we
Where my eyes were useless,
And I knew not the ways of my feet.
I clung to the hand of my friend;
But at last he cried: “I am lost.”
Apparently even in the late 1800’s there were self-appointed geniuses not unlike our Neo-Coneheads; as well as moronic, messianic clods who would lead us to self-destruction at the bidding of their personal god. More disturbingly, even then there were vast numbers among the populous begging to put their FAITH in any handy psychopath – for no better reason than to escape the responsibility of actively THINKING.
No wonder Twain called us “The Damned Human Race”!

Uke Man-
And in the words of one of the songs from John Prine's latest release, some humans ain't human.
It's a great song...check it out BUT here is the verse that sold ME on the song:
Have you ever noticed
When you're feeling really good
There's always a pigeon
That'll come shit on your hood
Or you're feeling your freedom
And the world's off your back
Some cowboy from Texas
Starts his own war in Iraq
Some humans ain't human
Some people ain't kind
I think you collected a whole bunch of 'em in the picture above this post!
I hope the PETA folks don't get you for subjecting that poor innocent creature to being the only intelligent and caring one in the collage.
Damned again!
Phyll
